Harvard Westlake, Palos Verdes among top teams entering 2014

Our friends over at released a series of videos last week previewing the 2014 high school lacrosse season in the Los Angeles area, and both finalists from last spring made the top three. But neither is ranked No. 1 by Drew Rogers and Lane Jaffe.

Last week, Orange County played host to the JCC Maccabi Games and Artfest, an annual olympic-style sports competition and arts showcase for Jewish teens from around the United States, Israel, Great Britain and Mexico. In boys lacrosse, Team OC’s surprise run through the playoffs ended in a silver medal.

Two local clubs are sending teams to Baltimore’s Champ Camp this week, with Team America out of Corona del Mar making its annual trip with two squads and first-year club Team West Coast sending a group of rising sophomores from the Conejo Valley.
