More and more lacrosse players from the Southland are heading off to play in college. This summer, Southland Lax is catching up with a few guys and asking them to share their experiences — what they’ve done, how they got there and how others can follow a similar path.
Any awards won, both high school and college?
2012 Firt-Team All-SLC; 2012 Third-Team All-American
How did you get into lacrosse?
Friends in my neighborhood were playing in middle school, and they asked if I wanted to come out and join them.
What’s your favorite lacrosse memory?
My favorite lacrosse memory was beating BYU in the semifinals my freshman year and all the fun times with my teammates on road trips.
How did your season go this year?
My season this year was probably my best as an individual, but as a team, I knew we could have done better. A little bit of a letdown, but overall, I think a good year.
What advice can you give to younger players looking to bring their games to the next level?
For the younger kids, I would have to say just go out and put in time on your own. All through high school and even now, I am going to wall ball or working on my shooting or dodging. Whatever it is I feel I need to work on. Just go out and do more than just show up at practice and games.
