It has been a few weeks since most high school lacrosse teams faced off in the L.A. area, but that changes Saturday with the opening of the L.A. Watts Games at the Home Depot Center in Carson and nearby Victoria Regional Park.
The boys bracket features a strong and diverse field with teams representing top CIF programs as well as up-and-coming club programs. Action begins Saturday, with St. John Bosco taking on Westchester at 10 a.m., followed by Palisades Charter vs. Culver City at 11:20 a.m. Crespi’s Liv Lax club meets Mission League rival Harvard-Westlake at 2 p.m. Saturday. Games continue throughout the day and into Sunday, with the boys’ bracket semifinals scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday and the championship game scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Sunday.
Girls action also opens at 10 a.m. Saturday at Victoria Regional Park, across the street from the Home Depot Center. The girls’ bracket championship games is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday.
More information is available from the L.A. Watts Games website. But if you miss high school lacrosse already, this is solid event with plenty of game action. Follow the Watts Games on Twitter @_LAWSG for updates … or follow @SouthlandLax, since we’ll be there, too.
