January is a big month for Adrenaline Lacrosse, with three consecutive weekends of events in Southern California. This weekend (Jan. 3-5), the Adrenaline Challenge in San Diego kicks off the New Year. West Coast Starz tryouts will then be held the following weekend (Jan. 11-12), and LXM|ATS Los Angeles (Jan. 18-19) will cap off the month’s events.
Starting today at the Del Mar Polo Fields, almost 75 high school teams and more than 50 middle school and youth teams will compete in the Adrenaline Challenge, now a three-day event running through Sunday. More than 60 college recruiters are scheduled to attend the event, which is one of Adrenaline’s oldest tournaments.
On Saturday, Team STX and Maverik United will face off in an LXM PRO game at 5:30 p.m. LXM PROs also will be holding clinics throughout the weekend. The entire Adrenaline Challenge schedule can be found here.
West Coast Starz 2014 tryouts are being held at Whittier College on Jan. 11-12 for players in Grades 4 through 11. The tryouts will be led by West Coast Starz directors Scott Hochstadt, Jono Zissi and Xander Ritz, along with assistance from various LXM PROs including Kyle Harrison, Erik Krum, among others. Online registration must be completed by Jan. 10, although on-field registration will be accepted.
Adrenaline’s last major January event is LXM|ATS Los Angeles on Jan. 18-19 at Conejo Creek South Park in Thousand Oaks. This event will be similar to other LXM|ATS events, as well as this year’s Adrenaline Challenge, with LXM PRO clinics and an LXM PRO game accompanying tournament play for U9 through Elite High School players.
